1. About this policy
This policy explains how Vyoma Logistics Pty Ltd (ABN 59 703 610 511, ACN 703 610 511) ("we", "us", "our") collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in Schedule 1 of that Act.
The policy applies to information collected through vyomalogisticstec.site, by email and in the course of arranging logistics services.
2. Information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business activities. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- your name, email address, business name and role;
- pick-up and delivery addresses, and the names of contacts at those addresses;
- details of goods to be moved or stored, timing and handling requirements;
- billing and payment details needed to invoice you; and
- the content of any correspondence you send us.
We do not intend to collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act. Please don't send it to us unless we have specifically asked for it.
You can browse this website without identifying yourself. Where practicable you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym (APP 2), although we usually need contact and address details to arrange a shipment.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you, for example when you email us or use the enquiry form on our contact page. We may also receive it from your business, or from carriers and storage providers involved in a job you have asked us to arrange. If we receive unsolicited personal information that we could not have collected under the APPs, we will destroy or de-identify it where lawful and reasonable to do so.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes;
- arrange, coordinate and confirm transport, storage and delivery;
- communicate with you about a job in progress;
- invoice, keep business records and meet our legal obligations; and
- improve how we deliver our services.
We will not use your information for direct marketing unless you have agreed to it, and you can opt out of any marketing at any time by emailing us (APP 7).
5. Disclosure
We disclose personal information only where needed to provide a service you have requested or where the law requires or permits it. This can include disclosure to carriers, couriers, warehouse operators and other providers engaged on your job, to our professional advisers, and to government authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
6. Overseas disclosure
We do not routinely disclose personal information to overseas recipients. Some of the email and cloud services we use may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the APPs (APP 8).
7. Cookies and website data
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not run tracking scripts. Our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.
8. Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure (APP 11). Information is held in password-protected electronic systems. When personal information is no longer needed for any purpose permitted under the APPs, and we are not required by law to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Access and correction
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading (APPs 12 and 13). Email your request to ceo@vyomalogisticstec.site. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and how to complain.
10. Data breaches
If we experience a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly and, where required, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, please email ceo@vyomalogisticstec.site with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), whose contact details are available at oaic.gov.au.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
